If you have ever been to an Outback Steakhouse then you already know what this place looks like. Every Outback is made up to look like “Typical Australia.” Let me just say for the record that it doesn’t. I suppose I could describe the décor but I am quickly coming to realize that I shouldn’t bother, at least not for a chain restaurant. I suppose there are some people out there who have never been to Outback and may not have one in their area, so in the interest of International appeal I’ll give it a shot.
Alright, most of the wood is unfinished and has been fashioned into rough circular beams. There are lots of Australia “things” on the wall. Pictures of Rugby teams, Kangaroos, Koala Bears, and Fosters. I would like to set a few things straight: Kangaroos (at least certain types) are considered pests, Koala Bears are mean and bite (as well as being drunk all of the time), and no Australian I know drinks Fosters. I should say lastly that the New Zealand All-Blacks are way better than Australia’s Rugby team.
All of that having been said, the drinks were passable for $4 and they gave us free bread. I don’t remember if we gave a card but I suspect that we did not bother.
I don’t really like Outback as a general but I do have to mark them up for the free bread. In addition, that bread really helped prolong our evening. I give Outback Steakhouse 2 and a half Martini Glasses out of 5.

Bledisloe Cup 1997-2002?
Wallabies trample on the All-Blacks.
This person may be correct in saying that the lack of authenticity my be part of the OutbackSteakhouse decor, but to like a place because of the free bread means your just cheap. The food is delicious and fresh and different. It is an Austrailian "theme", lighten up. If you want a grade A steak or fish delivered daily then you'll enjoy the Outback. The freezer at the outback is relatively small, yet the walk in refrigerator is huge, that is because very little is frozen. My family and I eat there quite often, because its good, not because its Austrailan. So go enjoy your free bread and your four dollar beer, and go on thinking just how traveled and coulured you are, but save us from your un imaginative martini glass reviews:)Thanks
Adrienne
I just think you may be a tad bit biased in your opinion Mrs Summerall.
But that's ok. So am I.
I love the food at Outback and the professional staff is just awsome. I used to think that the Sarasota location was best. But now I think that the Cortez Ave one has a slight edge over the others.
