The Lobby Lounge is located on the 10th floor of the Seattle Hilton in the … well … lobby. Despite its prime location on the 10th floor it lacks any windows or a view of any kind. Talk about a waste of location. The entire place is well appointed with comfy looking chairs, a fireplace, and an interesting bar. The bar itself is a long wedge of dark stained wood. Behind the bar is a cool wine rack that looks like an O with an X through it and bottles resting in the crooks of the shape.
The bartender was bored out of his mind and did not make even the most basic attempts of small talk or try to make us feel welcome. There was no one around and he had to be about our age, so he had to be bored. I can not imagine that he was so sucked in by the Tom Arnold Celebrity roast on the TV that our presence would not have been a welcome change. Instead he dicked us on our drinks. They were average and considering that we were about to pay $6 for them, they should have been something a little more … less … sucky.
To top things off, happy hour goes from 10 to Midnight each night. We arrived before midnight but did not cash out till after midnight, thus forcing us to pay the full $6 for drinks that should have cost $3. Even at Happy Hour prices they would have been too much. I wonder if he was expecting to get a bigger tip because we would be charged more. Wrong-O. I think Jason gave him enough to cover the IRS, but I’m not sure of that.
Anyhow, this bar lacked anything in the way of goodness. It failed to make use of the fine space, and while I would be happy to curl up and read a book here, I wouldn’t do much else. At $6 I can give this bar only one rating. I give it the ever dreaded One Martini Glass out of 5 that gets roasted by a bunch of no name celebrities simply because it feels as though being married to Rosanne gives it the right to be famous.
