Type: Lounge
Class: Dive
The Fairview Bar and Grille is located on a street that I drive down at least 6 times a week, probably more. I always see the cocktails sign and finally we decided to go in. Checking the front door, it was locked, but the back door to the lounge is located around the side and behind a crook in the wall.
The Lounge is a total dive. There is a medium sized bar with an older bartendress behind it. At one end of the bar were three older guys, each of a different ethnicity. They had drinks and a plate of wings between them. I assume they must know each other, especially considering the way they were arguing about politics or something.
The motif of the bar is 60’s dive. It has the glass shards lamps, broken black vinyl booths and beat up tables. The drinks are a mighty hefty pour for $3. It was no Baranof, but when we mentioned it, she said she knew of the place (and told us some interesting stories about it.). There is a large TV to one side to watch while you either pound or sip the mighty drinks (depending on your mood.)
Once the 3 guys started arguing about politics (and I convinced Jason not to correct them, as is his wont) we drank up and headed out.
They got strong drinks and if you want a meaningless drunken debates then this is your place. I give the Fairview 2 and a half Martini Glasses out of 5.
