Supreme (Madrona) No 140

Type: Neighborhood
Class: Trendy

Saying that Supreme is a Neighborhood bar is a little misleading, but considering that it is in Madrona I felt it was only fitting. A trendy place would be the Neighborhood bar since a true Neighborhood bar would not be found in Madrona.

The entire place is themed in sleek white and modern art. There are some nice touches about the place (Flowers, art, etc …). The most notable feature about Supreme are the match books. They are high end box matches with green tips. The box is all white with Supreme written on them in grey block lettering. “They are a good advertising tool,” the waiter tells me. Are they now? Even when the bar is non-smoking? I think somebody was smoking crack when they came up with that one. I would not expect a place like this too allow smoking, but to have match books? Sheesh. Maybe they should have had personalized coasters instead. The coasters they had were cool “hologram” things and you should really go by and pick one up for your place. It will help off set the price of the drink.

The clientele was local Madronites in their late 30’s and up and the friends of the bartender. The staff seemed to be having a really good time as well. If you know them, then you should definitely hang out there. Otherwise …

Phil picked up sponsorship of this bar and I was happy that I ordered Well as usual. I believe it was $4.50 and of ok strength. Tony got a $6 whiskey for $8. Once again, there is no reason to go out to the Supreme other than to pick up a match book and a coaster. I give them 2 Martini Glasses out of 5.
