There is no reason to go to the Courtyard by Marriott hotel bar. But strangely you might want to anyway. The bar is plain but comfortable. There will be no locals in sight and there might even be a wedding party. If you cozy up to Kim (who works M-Th) she might even give you the heads up on when the right events are going on. This way you can skip the bowling convention and be around when the Miss Washington Pageant is staying over.
The most notable thing about the CbM bar is that it looks just like every other CbM bar in existence. It gives a nice sense of continuity and has no surprises. This can be nice or it can be dull but it is usually both.
The bar also does not have coasters. This is much lamented by Kim who hates the damn cocktail napkins that fall apart after one use. The drink was fine, but I suspect will vary based on Kim’s opinion of you. Priced at $3.50 or $4 (I wrote it down somewhere) it is a fine way to spend some time. Now you had better get down there before October as Kim is moving to Chicago. We talked community theatre and why she was leaving. I will probably never see her again, but I will sad to see her go.
While I have no opinion about the CbM bar I did really like Kim. Thus I give it 3 Martini Glasses out of 5.
